After 20 years, South Shore Asian restaurant closing. Are you Stoked about replacement?

COHASSET – A Chinese-Japanese fusion restaurant will be closing its doors after nearly 20 years.

In place of the Feng Shui location at 380 Chief Justice Cushing Highway will be Stoked Pizza, a local pizzeria serving salads, cocktails and 12-inch pies with gluten-free and vegan options.

With the approval of the town’s select board May 6, Stoked Pizza partner and investor Doug McGregor said he hopes the restaurant will open by fall. McGregor is also the investor behind Salty Days at the Red Lion Tavern, Locales Tacos y Tequila in Hingham and Seabird Coffee & Co.

“As a resident here – I'm a newcomer, only eight years or so here in town – I really am confident that this is going to be a big hit, or I wouldn’t be doing it,” McGregor told the select board.

If you’ve ever been to Salty Days, McGregor noted that it would have a similar atmosphere: family friendly, but also a place to watch the game or have a date night.

Stoked Pizza started as a food truck, then opened locations in Brookline and Cambridge. The restaurant gets its produce from Lilliput Farms in Wareham and receives ingredients every day to curtail the use of freezers and preservatives.

The menu will be similar to existing locations with new items being created. The restaurant will be open seven days a week and primarily open for lunch and dinner.

Feng Shui is set to close a week after Stoked Pizza’s liquor license transfer is approved by the state, McGregor noted. Feng Shui first opened in Cohasset in 2005, and has since opened six other locations, including spots in Braintree and Waltham.
