2 wounded in shooting in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood

CHICAGO — Two men were wounded in a shooting in the city’s Edgewater neighborhood.

According to police, officers responded to a person shot in the alley around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the 6000 block of North Kenmore Avenue.

Before officers arrived to the scene, a 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old man self-transported to Swedish Hospital after being struck by gunfire, police said.

The 23-year-old was shot in the chest and is listed in serious condition. The 20-year-old man was shot in the shoulder and is listed in fair condition.

Both men were transported to Illinois Masonic Hospital for further treatment.

Police said the men were uncooperative with providing details on the shooting incident.

No one is in custody. Area Three Detectives are investigating.
