2 women charged with animal cruelty in Fort Mill

YORK COUNTY, S.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Two women have been arrested for animal cruelty in Fort Mill, Fort Mill Police said on Friday.

Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday at a home on Unity Street. Officers stated that a witness told them that dogs had appeared to be fighting in the backyard and one of the dogs appeared to be dead.

Following a search of the property two women were located at the home along with a large number of dogs. “Multiple animals that appeared to be malnourished were observed in the residence in deplorable living conditions,” Fort Mill Police stated.

Animal Control took custody of all of the dogs and both women, 26-year-old Elizabeth Kerr and 34-year-old Bianca Derboghosian, were arrested and face multiple charges including animal cruelty. They were held at the York County Detention Center.
