JOLIET, Ill. — A drive-by shooting outside of a home in Joliet left two teens injured on Saturday night.

Officers say the two victims, a 16-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, were both on the porch of a home in the 200 block of Henderson Avenue when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside opened fire just after 9 p.m.

The 16-year-old boy was shot once in the arm and was later released from the hospital after receiving treatment.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the gunfire and police say a search for the shooter is now underway.

According to Joliet police, officers believe the vehicle involved was a silver Chevrolet Silverado that had been driving southbound on Henderson Avenue as it approached the home.

Officers said they performed an “extensive canvas” of the area, and while no other victims were found, it was discovered that two other homes in the area had been hit by gunfire.
