2 taken to hospital following stabbing in Dayton

Apr. 10—Two men were transported to the hospital Wednesday morning after a stabbing was reported in Dayton.

The incident was reported just after 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of Pursell Avenue and Argyle Street, near Cleveland Elementary School.

Dayton Police Department Lt. Steven Bauer said that on arrival officers found the victim, an 80-year-old man, and the suspect, a 66-year-old man.

The victim was taken to Miami Valley Hospital, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

Bauer said the suspect was taken to an area hospital but was not specific which one.

Dispatchers said that the suspect was then taken into hospital.

Additional information on what led to the stabbing or the man's condition were not available.

The DPD's Violent Offender Unit is investigating this incident.
