2 people killed, 1 injured in shooting outside Bronx building: NYPD

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) — Two people were shot to death and another was injured when gunfire erupted outside a Bronx apartment building early Friday, police said.

Authorities found 36-year-old Justin Lawless and Claretha Daniels, 44, with gunshot wounds in the chest near 2290 Davidson Ave. in University Heights at around 12:15 a.m., according to the NYPD. The victims were rushed to the hospital but could not be saved.

Another man, 40, was shot in the arm and is recovering at the hospital, police said.

Investigators are searching for two men wearing all black who fled on a red scooter, cops said. There have been no arrests.

The motive for the shooting was unclear.
