2 migrants rescued in Bootheel region of New Mexico

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Border Patrol agents, working the Lordsburg, New Mexico area, rescued two “distressed and dehydrated migrants” in the Bootheel region over the weekend.

That is according to an X post made by El Paso Sector Border Patrol Chief Anthony “Scott” Good.

The migrants were rescued in what is described as a remote location near Playas, New Mexico. No other details of the rescue were provided in the social media post.

Also over the weekend, agents working in the Ysleta area of El Paso provided medical aid to a migrant, Good said in the same social media post.

For far this fiscal year, Border Patrol agents in the El Paso Sector have rescued 308 people, Good said.

The El Paso Sector includes all of New Mexico.
