2 killed in crash near Walcott

No names have been released early Sunday in connection with a fatal crash Saturday near Walcott, according to an Iowa State Patrol minimal crash report.

The driver and a passenger were killed in a crash that happened shortly before 12:30 p.m, the report says. The car was headed west on Interstate 80 when the driver apparently lost control “for an unknown reason,” according to the report.

The car rolled multiple times into the north ditch and came to rest on its top. Both the driver and passenger were deceased at the scene, the report says.

Names are being withheld pending notification of family members.
