2 Erie schools were on secure status after report of suspicious person with gun

DENVER (KDVR) – On Thursday morning, Erie Elementary School and Erie Middle School were on secure status due to reports of a suspicious male person with a handgun, according to the Erie police.

The police tweeted about the incident just after 10 a.m.

The report came from a student after they arrived at school.

Suspect wanted in Golden road rage shooting

Just before 10:30 a.m., the secure status was lifted at the schools.

Officers are in the area of East County Line Road and Moffat Street trying to locate the individual.

The man is described as a white male with a long red beard, white shirt, black sweatpants and blue baseball cap.
