2 DUI arrests made 24 hours after George County deputies kick off safe driving campaign

GEORGE COUNTY, Miss. (WKRG) — Just 24 hours after kicking off a new safety campaign, the George County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests of people allegedly driving under the influence.

According to a GCSO Facebook post, the Click-it-or-Ticket campaign kicked off Monday and runs until June 2. The national campaign is aimed at getting drivers to wear their seatbelts, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The post said deputies pulled over a wrong-way driver and arrested 25-year-old Luis Tenorio for DUI, reckless driving, and no driver’s license.

53-year-old Francis Boyer was arrested after a traffic stop in the Basin community, according to GCSO. He was charged with DUI, possession of a controlled substance, simple possession of marijuana, expired license plate, no proof of insurance and no seatbelt.
