2 dead after motorcycle crashes involving cow in Rusk County

RUSK COUNTY, Texas (KETK) – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) announced that two Tatum men are dead after back-to-back fatal crashes involving a cow on CR 2142, six miles west of Tatum.

According to the preliminary report made by DPS, Jerry Moore, 58 of Tatum, was traveling on CR 2142 when he struck a cow on the road at approximately 2:23 a.m. on April 23. The report said that Jerry was pronounced dead by medical staff

At approximately 2:28 a.m., DPS reported that Michael Moore, 53 of Tatum, was traveling on CR 2142 on a motorcycle when they struck a cow “that had been struck from a previous crash,” Michael was pronounced dead by the Justice of the Peace on the scene.
