2 dead, 1 injured in early morning Bronx shooting

Three people were shot, two of them fatally, when gunfire erupted in the Bronx’s University Heights neighborhood Friday morning.

Police found a 36-year-old male and a 44-year-old female both shot in the chest at 2290 Davidson Ave around 12:15 a.m., according to the NYPD.

The third victim, a 40-year-old male, was shot in the right arm.

All three victims were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in Belmont, about a mile away from the scene.

Both victims shot in the chest were pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.

The 40-year-old shot in the arm was listed in stable condition.

No arrests have been made while police investigate a motive for the deadly shooting.

Two men dressed in all black were reportedly spotted fleeing the scene on a red moped around the time of the shooting and are considered to be suspects.
