2 Constitutional Amendments on April 2nd ballot

MADISON, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Voters in Wisconsin, next Tuesday (4/2/24), will see 2 Constitutional Amendments on the ballot which could change how elections are conducted. One would ban private grant money from being used to help administer an election. The other would ban anyone but election officials, designated by law, from performing tasks tied to voting in primaries, elections, or referendums. Both of these questions were added to the ballot by Republican lawmakers without the support of a single Democrat.

Much of the controversy stems from the 2020 election, in which the non-partisan Center for Tech and Civic Life, issued grants, with the money coming from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. Wisconsin received about $10 million after a ruling by the Wisconsin Election Commission okayed the funding. Still, Republicans argue the money caused people to question the integrity of the election’s outcome.
