2-car crash on Houston Harte hospitalizes multiple

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — A two-car crash on the 4100 block of the westbound Houston Harte Frontage Road sent multiple people to the hospital and clogged traffic leaving the expressway during the morning hours of April 16.

According to a San Angelo Police Department officer at the scene, the crash occurred after the driver of a Dodge Ram service truck failed to control their speed while approaching a yield sign. The truck collided with the rear of a silver Mazda van waiting at the sign, causing multiple injuries to the passengers of both vehicles.

The occupants of the van were sent to Shannon Medical Center with unknown injuries, while the occupants of the truck went to Shannon Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck had two occupants. The officer did not know how many occupants were in the van.

Our reporter at the scene observed that SAPD officers had redirected traffic exiting the expressway to avoid interference with first responders at the scene, causing traffic to temporarily back up on the off-ramp.
