2 Arrested in Seattle as Police Chase Down Carjackers

The Seattle Police Department (SPD) said they arrested two male suspects, aged 17 and 20, after an armed carjacking at a drive-thru ATM in Rainier Valley turned into a pursuit to Mercer Island.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the moment the 40-year-old victim was approached by a suspect wearing a hoodie at the ATM.

Officers nearby located the vehicle and initiated a pursuit as the suspects tried to evade police, with footage showing the chase and the moment a handgun was tossed out of the car.

The arrest took place a few minutes later on Mercer Island. The 17-year-old, who was driving, and the 20-year-old were arrested for first-degree armed robbery with a gun, police said. The handgun was recovered. Credit: Seattle Police Department via Storyful
