19-year-old motorcyclist injured in Mission Valley crash

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital Friday after a crash in Mission Valley, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, a 19-year-old man was riding a 2015 Honda PGM-FI motorcycle in the 1400 block of Camino De Rio South around 8 a.m.

At that same time, a 46-year-old woman driving a 2023 Mazda CX-30 attempted to merge onto the roadway from a driveway, pulling in front of the motorcyclist, police explained. The rider had to stop abruptly as a result and was ejected from the motorcycle.

The man was transported to a local hospital to be treated for an open fracture to his right ankle and arm, as well as a fracture to his left lower leg and a significant laceration to the left thigh. His injuries are not considered life-threatening.
