19-year-old killed in drive-by shooting in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood

CHICAGO — A 19-year-old man was killed in a drive-by shooting in the city’s Austin neighborhood.

The shooting happened around 12:35 a.m. Friday in the 4700 block of West Polk Street. Police said the 19-year-old was walking when he was shot by an offender traveling in a vehicle.

The man was shot in the chest and transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.

No one is in custody. Area Four Detectives are investigating.
