19-Year-Old Connecticut College Student Dead in Rollover Crash: 'Rest in Peace Our Girl'
Maria Rita Da Mata was a student at Central Connecticut State University
A 19-year-old Connecticut college student was killed and four others were injured in a car crash over the weekend.
Maria Rita Da Mata was identified as the victim in the April 27 crash, Central Connecticut State University president Zulma Toro said in a message to the school.
"My heart goes out to Maria Rita Da Mata's family," Toro said, according to Patch and the New York Daily News. "Maria was well on her way to completing a degree in marketing from our School of Business. The university family will keep the Da Mata family in our thoughts and prayers."

State police said that a 21-year-old unidentified man was driving southbound on River Road just after 10 p.m. local time when he lost control and the vehicle rolled over, NBC affiliate WVIT reported.
The driver and three passengers were all from Bethel and between the ages of 19 and 21, according to WVIT and CT Insider. The three survivors were transported to Hartford Hospital.
Due to the severity of Da Mata's injuries, she was pronounced dead at the scene, CT Insider reported. It remains unclear what caused the driver to lose control.

Following Da Mata's death, loved ones shared their condolences on social media.
"How painful it is to have to say goodbye to you, that gentle girl who loved everyone wherever she came, rest in peace our girl you will be missed dearly," one person wrote in a translated Facebook post Monday.

Toro and Connecticut State Police did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s requests for comment.
