Man injured in early-morning shooting in West Pullman

CHICAGO — A man is recovering on Tuesday afternoon after an early-morning shooting on the city’s Far South Side.

According to Chicago police, the gunfire erupted just after 7:30 a.m. in the 11700 block of South Peoria Street in West Pullman.

Officers say the victim, an 18-year-old man, was outside in the area when two people exited a black Mazda and opened fire in his direction.

The man was shot once in the knee and was able to take himself to the hospital where authorities say he was listed in good condition.

Currently it is unclear what led to the shooting and authorities say no arrests have been made.

Officers did not provide a description of the people responsible.
