17-year-old charged with killing another teen in east Charlotte: CMPD

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A 17-year-old has been charged with killing another teenager in a shooting from earlier this month, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police announced.

Officers responded to calls regarding the incident around 6:40 p.m. on Friday, April 12, by 7600 Boswell Road in east Charlotte. Kaleb Brown, 17 was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

An initial investigation identified an unnamed 17-year-old as the suspect. The suspect was arrested, interviewed, and subsequently charged with murder. He faces other charges including robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Medic, victim services, CSI, operations command, and CFD were among the departments that responded to the scene. CMPD Det. Fitch is the lead on the case.

This is the second arrest of a 17-year-old that was announced Tuesday.
