Spring is here and there is plenty to do in and around Eugene, Springfield and the rest of Lane County, from egg hunts to festivals to Sunday brunch. Here is a list of some of the major happenings scheduled across the region, most of which should appeal to the whole family.

Community Egg Hunt at Valley River Life in Eugene

Valley River Life Pentecostal Church is hosting a free community egg hunt. Outside of the egg hunts, there will be crafts, scavenger hunts, an indoor bounce house and more activities.

The egg hunts are divided into age-specific groups:

  • 2 years old and younger at 10:00 a.m.

  • Preschoolers at 10:20 a.m.

  • Kindergarteners and first graders at 10:40 a.m.

  • Second and third graders at 11:00 a.m.

  • Fourth, fifth and sixth graders at 11:20 a.m.

Easter Eggstravaganza at Lone Oak Assisted Living in Eugene

Lone Oak Assisted Living is hosting an egg hunt for kids 15 and younger. The "Eggstravaganza" Hunt will have 1,000 eggs to find. The event will also have piñatas, face painting, a coloring contest, a prize raffle basket and an appearance from the Easter Bunny. Hot dogs and sodas will be available for purchase. This event is free, but bring your own basket for the egg hunt.

Easter Egg Scramble at Willamette Christian Center in Eugene

Kids in fifth grade and younger are invited to the Easter Egg Scramble at Willamette Christian Center. The hunt features over 5,000 eggs. The scramble started at 9:45 a.m., while an Easter church service is slated for 10:30 a.m.

Easter Egg Hunt at Harvest Community Church in Eugene

Harvest Community Church’s annual Easter Egg Hunt has 15,000 eggs to find, separated hunting areas for younger and older kids and multiple bounce houses. The Easter Bunny, Bluey, and other special guests will be available for photo ops. 10,000 Piece Egg Hunt at Crossfire Church in Springfield

Crossfire World Outreach Ministries Church is hosting its free annual 10,000-piece egg hunt for kids 12 and younger. There will be separate areas for younger children to do their egg hunt. Registration is required at the door to enter the egg hunt and raffle.

Before their Sunday services, Crossfire will also have a free hot breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Toddlers through fifth graders are invited to East Side Baptist Church's Easter "Egg"stravaganza. Registration is required. There are two egg hunts at 1:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring their own basket or bucket.

Egg Hunt at Walterville Grange in Springfield

Walterville Grange will be hosting its 11th Annual Easter Egg Hunt. There will be three egg hunts, split up by age groups: ages 4 and under, ages 5 and 6, and ages 7 and up. There will be goodies in every egg with some special surprises. This event is free. Attendees are asked to bring their own baskets.

"Megga" Hunt at Lively Park in Springfield

In a celebration of springtime, Willamalane is hosting Springfield’s "biggest annual egg hunt event." There are five different egg hunt options, with inclusive options for all ages and abilities.

Preregistration is required. For Springfield residents, it costs $6 to participate and $8 for nonresidents. Children under 1 year old are not required to register to participate. Registration is also not required for people who will not participate in egg hunts.

Easter Breakfast Youth Benefit at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Eugene

Bethesda Lutheran Church is offering a free light breakfast of fruit, pastries and coffee before and after its morning Easter Sunday service. The church will be accepting donations to help fund its youth group summer trips.

Bethesda will also be hosting an egg hunt for kids at around 10:30 a.m.

Meet and greet with bunnies at Little Critters Crew in Eugene

Little Critters Crew Small Animal Rescue will be hosting a meet and greet with adoptable rabbits. The rescue will be providing educational materials and information for future adoptions. Sunday Brunch at Heceta Lighthouse
