16 employees in Waterloo, Columbia IL cited for underage alcohol sales

MONROE COUNTY, Ill. – Illinois State Police issued citations to 16 employees in Waterloo and Columbia accused of allowing underage alcohol sales.

Illinois State Police recently announced these citations from an operation of “alcohol countermeasure enforcement surveillance.” The operation focused on several businesses in Monroe County on May 9.

“The detail was conducted to determine which businesses may be selling alcoholic beverages to minors,” said ISP in a news release. Authorities say the main goal is enforce underage drinking laws and prevent alcohol-impaired crashes.

ISP announces citations to employees from the following businesses:

  • Maria Fast, 30 (Vintage Wine Bar)

  • Cassandra Goldschmidt, 41 (Main Street Saloon)

  • Kylee Sexauer, 33 (Hopskeller Brewing Company)

  • Pamela Ahne, 66 (Walmart)

  • Alexandra Sorby, 23 (Pie Hard LLC)

  • Chelsea Murphy, 29 (Fourth Street Bar & Grill)

  • Trenton Niles, 22 (Crawford Partners LLC – Circle K)

  • Irfany Jakarta, 42 (Hiko Japanese Steak, Sushi and Ramen)

  • Toto Chigo-Manuel, 35 (Casa Romero)

  • Jared Marshall, 38 (Happy Hour Sports Bar)

  • Luis Ruben Zavala Angel, 28 (El Paso Mexican Cocina)

  • David Guerrero, 57 (Columbia Market)

  • Robert Freyman, 63 (Chateau La Vin)

  • Maria Del Carmen Cruz Lopez, 38 (Tequila Mexican Restaurant)

  • Michelle Herbeck, 42 (Big Al’s Shots)

  • Daniel Nugent, 61 (Schnucks)

ISP says these employees were cited for unlawful delivery of alcoholic liquor to a minor, which is a Class A misdemeanor in Illinois.

ISP reports that 50 locations were evaluated between Waterloo and Columbia as part of the operation, which was funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
