15 People Injured, Including 1 Critically, in Tram Crash at Universal Studios Hollywood
All involved were transported to a local hospital for treatment after the incident

Universal Studios Hollywood tram.Fifteen people were injured after a tram crashed at Universal Studios Hollywood over the weekend.
On Saturday, April 20, authorities responded to a crash involving a studio tour tram at the California-based theme park after 9:00 p.m. local time, the Los Angeles County Fire Department (LAFD) said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
Rescue crews found 15 people injured at the scene, the LAFD said. One individual was found with critical injuries, while the others sustained minor injuries, KTLA and NBC Los Angeles reported. All involved were transported to a local hospital for treatment after the incident, per the LAFD.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed substance abuse was not a factor in the crash. An initial report from the organization said that a "last car of the tram collided with a metal guardrail on the right side of the roadway, causing it to tilt and eject multiple people."
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, the CHP said.

In a statement to PEOPLE, a Universal Studios Hollywood spokesperson confirmed the incident.
"There was a tram incident at the theme park tonight that resulted in multiple minor injuries, confirmed by the LA County Fire Dept," they said.
The spokesperson continued, "We are working to support our guests and understand the circumstances that led to the accident."
In a follow-up statement, the Universal spokesperson said, "Our thoughts continue to be with the guests who were involved, and we are thankful that based on agency reports, the injuries sustained were minor."
"We are working closely with public agencies, including the California Highway Patrol, as we continue our review of the incident and safety remains a top priority," they added. "We have resumed Studio Tour operations with a modified route and are reinforcing our operational and safety protocols."

Universal Studios Hollywood doubles as a film studio and theme park in Los Angeles, with various rides and attractions themed to blockbuster movies.
The Studio Tour is the theme park's signature attraction. It brings guests into the movies by transporting them through film sets for Psycho, Back to the Future and more.
