12 tornadoes confirmed from weekend storms
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City National Weather Service has confirmed that 12 tornadoes touched down across northeastern Kansas and western Missouri. Five tornadoes hit on Friday, April 26 and seven tornadoes hit on Saturday April 27.
The strongest tornadoes were two EF-1 tornadoes in Bates County, near Butler and Ballard, with 95 MPH peak winds. Another EF-1 tornado hit Gentry, MO with 90 MPH peak winds. The two most impacted zones were Butler and Henry counties along with northern Missouri near the Iowa state border.

There were two other confirmed touchdowns in Brown County, Kansas, and Linn County, Missouri but caused no damage. Those have been rated EF-Unknown by the National Weather Service, since the Enhanced-Fujita tornado scale is based on damage estimated winds.
