12 people arrested for an alleged organized shoplifting scheme in Myrtle Beach area

Twelve people were taken to jail for allegedly being involved in an organized shoplifting operation and swindling a woman out of $800.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department and Horry County Police worked together to arrest the 12 people, including two fugitives last week. Horry County officials said they were able to recover merchandise worth several thousand dollars. The 12 people were arrested on different dates.

A woman was allegedly approached by four men and convinced her to bet money on a gambling game at a Walmart, 541 Seaboard St., on April 16, a police report stated. She accused them of convincing her to bet $800 which she then lost.

Jeremy Graves, 37, Tirck Friday, 26, and Gregory Ray, 33, were identified as three of the men allegedly involved in the gambling. They were identified by security footage.

  • Gregory Ray, 33, of Greensboro, North Carolina has been charged with unlawful games and betting, swindling, and operating without a business license.

  • Jeremy Graves, 37, of Thomasville, North Carolina has been charged with unlawful games and betting, swindling, operating without a business license, resisting arrest by giving false name, giving false information to law enforcement, and manufacturing, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.

  • Tirck Friday, 26, of Greensboro, North Carolina has been charged with unlawful games and betting, sale or delivery of pistol and possession by certain person unlawful, swindling, and operating without a business license.

  • Marcus Melton, 26, of High Point, North Carolina has been charged with gambling, swindling, and operating without a business license.

  • Reuben Turner, 45, of Myrtle Beach has been charged with trespassing.

  • Shannon Garlock, 35, of Myrtle Beach has been charged with shoplifting $2,000 or less.

  • Jimmie Ates, 52, of Myrtle Beach was picked up as a fugitive from Texas.

  • Carrie Elliott, 50, of Myrtle Beach has been charged with shoplifting $2,000 or less.

  • Shardae Davis, 35, of Sumter, South Carolina has been charged with shoplifting/enhancement $2,000 or less.

  • Anfernee Bradley, 27, of Sumter, South Carolina has been charged with driving under suspension.

  • Allesha Robert, 26, of Myrtle Beach has been charged with shoplifting $2,000 or less, possession of cocaine, and manufacturing, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs.

  • Michael Uher, 43, of Myrtle Beach has been charged with shoplifting $2,000 or less.
