12-year-old identified in Reedley guinea pig kicking death, police say

REEDLEY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Reedley Police Department announced Friday they have identified the juvenile who they say is responsible for the death of a guinea pig outside a Reedley home – after video surfaced of a child seen chasing a chicken and kicking a guinea pig before kicking it and allegedly causing its death.

Investigators with the Reedley Police Department say the juvenile depicted in the video has been positively identified as a 12-year-old resident of Reedley. The child’s name is not being released due to their age.

Surviving guinea pig could die of depression after other kicked to death in Reedley, owner says

Police say they are working with the Kings Canyon Unified School District the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office, and law enforcement authorities to determine the appropriate course of action and the charges to be filed.

The video, which can be viewed below, was posted on social media on Wednesday by the homeowner.
