I-10 ramps at Evangeline Thruway to close next week: Here’s where and when

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — The ramps to and from westbound I-10 at Evangeline Thruway will be subject to overnight closures next week, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.

I-10 westbound entrance and exit ramps at Exit 103A (La. 182/US 90 Morgan City) will be closed on the following nights to allow crews to perform milling and paving operations for the I-10 outside travel lane, weather permitting:

  • 8 p.m. Monday, May 13 until 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 14

  • 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 15

  • 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15 until 6 a.m. Thursday, May 16

Motorists traveling on westbound I-10 will only be able to access Exit 103A (La. 182/US 90 Morgan City) via the posted detour route, which includes continuing on I-10 westbound to Exit 101 (La. 182/University Avenue), traveling south on La. 182, and then take I-10 eastbound back to Exit 103A (La. 182/US 90 – Morgan City).

Motorists traveling on north on I-49 will only be able to access westbound I-10 via the posted detour route, which includes taking I-49 northbound to Exit 2 (La. 98/Gloria Switch Road), travel west on La. 98, and then take I-49 southbound back to I-10 westbound Exit 1B (Lake Charles).

Detour routes will be posted during the ramp closure periods.

Emergency vehicles will not have access to the entrance and exit ramps at Exit 103A (La. 182/US 90 Morgan City) and there will be no vehicle width restrictions with this work, DOTD said.
