1 person hurt in stabbing, 1 in custody near Downtown

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One person was stabbed and another person is in custody after a “fight with weapons” near Downtown El Paso on Saturday morning, May 4, police said.

Police were called out shortly after 11 a.m. along the 1800 block of North Oregon Street about a “fight with weapons,” police said.

One person was taken to a local hospital for a stab wound, police said. Another person is in custody.

Police did not say how badly the person was hurt in the stabbing or what led up to the incident.

Our crew on the scene said the incident appears to have happened on a Sun Metro bus but police have not confirmed that.

On Thursday, a man was stabbed on a Sun Metro bus and later died after he tried to intervene in a fight that was going on onboard.
