1 killed in US-31 crash in Muskegon

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — One person was hit and killed while trying to walk across a road on Friday morning in Muskegon.

Around 5:50 a.m., officers with the Muskegon Police Department were sent to US-31 near E Sherman Boulevard for a crash.

Responding officers learned that a 29-year-old Muskegon man was attempting to walk across the road and was hit by a passing vehicle. He died at the scene.

“The Muskegon Department of Public Safety wishes to offer our deepest sympathy to everyone affected by this tragedy,” the police department said in a release.

The crash remains under investigation.
