1 killed, 1 hurt after tractor-trailer hits car on Interstate 95 in Dillon County, troopers say

DILLON COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — One person was killed another another person was hurt Wednesday morning when a tractor-trailer hit a car on Interstate 95 in Dillon County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Troopers responded at about 7:10 a.m. after a 2017 Freightliner tractor-trailer hit a 2005 Toyota Prius while both vehicles were traveling north near mile-marker 196.

The driver of the Prius died at the scene and the truck driver was taken by EMS to a local hospital, troopers said. They were only two people in the vehicles.

The identity of the person who died is not being released until the family is notified, Dillon County Coroner Donnie Grimsley said.
