1 killed, 1 injured in Clifton crash

One person died in a crash that shut down Clifton Avenue for hours Thursday morning, according to the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office.

The crash was reported outside Clifton Mosque near McAlpin Avenue around 4 a.m.

A vehicle struck a Duke Energy utility pole.

Two people with serious injuries were taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Cincinnati police said earlier Thursday.

One of them was pronounced dead there, a coroner’s report shows.

The person’s name and age were not released pending notification of next of kin.

The Cincinnati Police Department’s Traffic Unit is investigating.
