19-year-old arrested after deadly crash near downtown Denver

DENVER (KDVR) — A 19-year-old was arrested in connection to a deadly crash at West Colfax Avenue and North Speer Boulevard early Saturday morning, according to Denver police.

Police said the driver, a man, was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide and DUI.

The victim was also a 19-year-old male and was a passenger in the vehicle when the crash occurred.

Police investigate deadly shooting in southeast Denver

He was declared dead on the scene.

In total, two vehicles were involved, but the other driver did not report any injuries at the time of the crash.

Police said it appeared the arrested driver ran a red light while going west on Colfax Avenue and crashed into the other vehicle, which was going south on Speer Boulevard.
