1 dead after boat capsizes in Aurora Reservoir

DENVER (KNDVR) — Aurora emergency responders reported one person died after a boat capsized in the Aurora Reservoir on Monday.

Aurora Fire Rescue crews were called to the reservoir at about 9:30 a.m. for a technical rescue response. At about 10 a.m., the agency reported they were able to pull a person from the water and get them to the shoreline.

The South Metro Fire dive team was also called to check the area where the boat overturned to ensure only one person went into the water.

At about 1 p.m., Aurora police told FOX31 the person pulled from the water had died from their injuries.
