One man was found shot and pronounced dead on the scene. Another victim arrived by private vehicle at St. Francis in non-critical condition.

One truck driver was an eyewitness and says it’s something he will never forget.

“I’m just sick. I can’t wrap my head around this. I mean that was just a senseless killing,” the witness said.

He said he was coming from Kanas and that he parked at the Truck stop because of the gas prices. But now he says it cost him his peace.

“It was wild last night. I haven’t had any sleep,” he said. ” Boom Boom – then Boom Boom Boom. Maybe six maybe seven. Everybody was running. I thought what the. I looked over in the parking lot and the dude was lying down on the ground.”

The cheap gas drew him here, but he says the crime will keep him out.

“I mean this is just senseless killing. I mean, I don’t know,” he said. “But I know I will never come back to Memphis – never ever.”

Police say one person has been detained. However, this remains an ongoing investigation.
