See What Happens When a 'Star Wars' Jedi Gets a GoPro

The best homemade Star Wars fan videos take the franchise’s most out-of-this-world galactic gear and drop it into familiar scenes from our more gravity-bound planet. Who could forget the TIE fighter in the dashcam video? Or the Imperial cruisers taking off from the Frankfurt Airport footage? Josh Trank may have lost out on directing an official Star Wars spinoff, but way back in 2007, he made his Jedi bones with an ingenious, lo-fi 2007 short that showed what happened when boozy bros started lightsaber dueling at a birthday party.

Well, there’s a new gritty Star Wars fan vid to behold (see above) and it might just make the previous ones look like child’s play. (H/t HuffPo) It starts with the nifty premise that any Jedi worth his mind tricks would want to strap on a GoPro before battling the Empire. We’re then treated to the nameless knight’s point-of-view as he deflects blasts back on marauding Stormtroopers, uses the Force to stop a TIE fighter in its flight path, and even takes on a looming AT-AT right before a squadron of X-Wings and the Millennium Falcon screams in as backup. Next time, we hope he gets a selfie stick attachment for his lightsaber.
