Is That a TIE Fighter Crash in Your Dashcam?
What’s that causing the bottleneck on the interstate? Could it be a TIE fighter breakdown? An inventive, totally convincing, oh-so-brief 10-second video imagines what happens when an Imperial TIE fighter crash lands in our galaxy and is captured on a dashcam by a seriously nonplussed driver. (Hat tip to CNET, which traces the origin of the video to a German TV station.) You’ll note among other spot-on details, the lounging Stormtroopers who don’t seem at all concerned that there will be a Darth Vader chokehold in their future.
In the ever-expanding universe of Star Wars-themed viral videos, this one seems to fall into the subset of clips that seamlessly blend galactic hardware with more earthbound scenes. In fact, it reminded us of video from this summer from a user who managed to land an Imperial shuttle at the Frankfurt Airport where an AT-AT was already thumping around. (See below.) What’s next?
