The Guardians are off to a great start at 17-7. But one aspect that hasn't gone well is injuries, especially to their pitchers.
Gulf Breeze native Ben Lively is off to a hot start this season as he continues his MLB redemption with the Cleveland Guardians. Lively -- a Gulf Breeze High grad -- allowed just one run and struck out seven over 6.1 innings in his second start of the season Tuesday against the Boston Red Sox.
José Ramírez homered in the eighth inning, Tyler Freeman and Bryan Rocchio had RBIs in the seventh when Cleveland finally got to Boston's Tanner Houck and the Guardians kept up the best start in their 124-year history with a 4-1 win over the Red Sox on Tuesday night. Ramírez, who had some recent tough luck on hard-hit balls, connected leading off the eighth inning against Cam Booser for his fourth homer.
