Walker went just 4.2 innings Wednesday night but it didn't matter with the offense exploding in their 11-4 victory over the Rangers.
The Phillies capitalized on four Texas Rangers errors and continue to pummel opponents with timely hitting, including three home runs, in winning for the 28th time in 34 outings, 11-4. Edmundo Sosa hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning, after a solo job by J.T. Realmuto in the third put the Phillies up for good. Bryce Harper added the exclamation point with an eighth-inning solo shot off the facing of the second deck in right to position the Phillies for their seventh sweep of the season in Thursday's matinee.
Following a shoulder injury to start the season, Walker's fastball velocity is down two ticks year over year, sitting at a measly 91 mph. He's also lost some heat on his cutter, sinker and splitter. As a result, his advanced pitching model metrics are also down, as his Stuff+ rating has dropped eight points year over year (from 96 to 84), including 20 points on his fastball (79 to 59) and 12 on his sinker (81 to 69), his two most-used pitches.
