Pitch-Perfect Parody of Banksy Appears on Brazil's Street: Why You Wascawwy Graffiti Artist!

Imitation, they say, is the sincerest form of flattery, and when it happens to include iconic Looney Tunes characters, you know there is something interesting brewing.

A Brazilian street artist going by the name Butcher Billy has been putting his own cartoon twist on some Banksy classics.

Banksy has become the most famous street artist in the world, so it's no surprise others are now riffing off his work. Banksy's satirical, poignant stencils have managed to keep him in the spotlight for years, even as he manages to keep his true identity concealed. "No one ever listened to me until they didn't know who I was," he once wrote. Clearly it's working. Just this month, a Banksy-painted trailer sold for a whopping $848,516.

Butcher Billy has achieved some fame in his own right for creating irreverant pop culture-inspired street art. One work, for example, shows Batman kissing Wonder Woman with the text "Love will tear us apart." (Check out more of the Brazilian artist’s work on his Behance online profile or his Facebook page.)

Banksy has also frequently used pop culture figures like Darth Vader in his work. But Butcher Billy's Looney Toons versions, part of a series called ‘Butcher Billy Bullies Banksy’ for an adult coloring book, add some extra charm. As Bugs likes to say, "This could be a beginning of a BEEEEAUTIFUL friendship."
