When it comes to hosting, Zuri Hall has seemingly done it all.

From E! News and Fashion Police to currently Access Hollywood and American Ninja Warrior, Hall has solidified herself as one of the most versatile, beloved TV hosts in the industry, bringing her signature brand of positivity and informed perspective to every one of her gigs over the past decade.

For the latest episode of In The Know by Yahoo’s pop culture interview series We Should Talk, Zuri looked back at her career and reflected on some of the moments that propelled her to the top of the industry. She discussed her time on Fashion Police with Joan Rivers, her origins as a sports correspondent and her current post co-hosting American Ninja Warrior on NBC, as well as how the entertainment news landscape has shifted over the years and the continued importance of a trusted brand like Access.

“At the end of the day, that might be the biggest thing that we offer: credibility. At the end of the day, this is news. It’s entertainment news. We take that very seriously. It’s really easy to get on social media with a microphone and be speculative and gossip and say, ‘We heard this…’. There’s a lot of fake news in the world that’s easily perpetuated. Nobody cares about the truth if the lie is more interesting, so now more than ever people need trusted sources,” Zuri said about Access Hollywood and the changing world of celebrity news. “We’re seeing that in hard news when it comes to politics, and the same is true in entertainment news. If you see it on our show, by the time it’s gotten there, if there’s nothing else you can do, you can trust that it’s been fact-checked. We’ve reached out to sources and given people an opportunity to make statements on what we’re going to run. We run this as the news operation that it is. That credibility becomes more important in the age of technology when people can go online and literally say anything.”
