Zooey Deschanel Adorably Labels Jonathan Scott Her "2020 MVP" in Touching Instagram Post

As if actress Zooey Deschanel and Property Brothers c0-host Jonathan Scott weren't already the epitome of couple goals, Deschanel shared a moving tribute to Scott in an Instagram post celebrating the new year. In the caption to a photo of the couple cozied up, Deschanel dubbed her boyfriend of over a year, her "2020 MVP."

"My 2020 MVP was this guy, who always made me feel happy in spite of a weird and uncertain year. Hoping 2021 is full of silver linings for everyone," she candidly wrote.

The moment proved to be a family affair given that the photo of the beaming couple was snapped by Deschanel's father, cinematographer/director Caleb Deschanel. Most recently, the elder Deschanel served as cinematographer for the film Unforgettable and the 2019 version of The Lion King.

Not one to be left out, Scott shared the same photo to his Instagram page with an equally uplifting caption.

"I’m dedicating this year to love, happiness and the pursuit of helping others. I feel like I’ve got a good jumpstart on the love part," he divulged.

Deschanel and Scott, who have been together since September 2019, had the opportunity to work alongside one another on the second season of HGTV's Celebrity IOU. On the show, which Scott co-hosts with his brother Drew Scott, the couple worked together on a special renovation project. The episode aired on December 14, 2020.
