Zoinks! 'Supernatural' nailed this ‘Scooby-Doo’ crossover episode
Two supernatural worlds collided in CW’s Supernatural crossover episode with a pretty unlikely partner, Scooby-Doo. The Winchester boys were sucked into a TV and found themselves animated in the popular cartoon.
The episode was full of Scooby-Doo references and antics. Sam and Dean walked into a malt shop, after seeing the Mystery Machine parked out front, and saw the Scooby-Doo gang enjoying some snack. After Dean called “Dibs on Daphne,” they met all the cartoon characters. Soon, they were involved in a fishy plot to inherit a haunted mansion and were haunted by what Scooby described as a “g-g-g-g-ghost.” The show even included a classic chase scene through a hallway with about a dozen doors.
However, the Winchester threw a wrench in the normal Scooby-Doo universe. Velma developed a crush on Sam and his “linebacker” shoulders. Shaggy was seriously injured after a fall through a window, saying, “I have jumped out of a biplane in a museum and was fine! How did this happen?!”
Finally, Sam and Dean helped Shaggy and the group unmask the ghost to reveal a character, hilariously named Cosgood Creeps, as the villain.
The ratings for the episode were huge, so it seems Supernatural fit into Scooby-Doo like a creepy old villain in a ghost costume.
Adam Devine and James Corden try to cross over on their own with an Amazing Race audition tape.
