  • Fans were excited to see Zoey and Max together and shared their reactions on Twitter.

The Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist season 2 premiere was nothing short of amazing, according to fans rooting for Zoey (Jane Levy) and Max (Skylar Astin).

Picking up where the NBC musical comedy drama left off, the episode entitled “Return” featured Zoey still coming to terms with her father’s death, which occurred at the end of season 1. With the help of her family and good friend Mo (Alex Newell), Zoey goes back to work. But when she does, she's immediately overwhelmed. Meanwhile, her friends got closer, including Max and Simon (John Clarence Stewart), who, despite their newfound friendship, won’t stop competing for her love.

Throughout the season 2 premiere episode, Max and Simon check up again and again on Zoey, which prompts her to finally decide who she wants to be with. While speaking with Max about a new project he's working on, Zoey tells him that she wants him — and with that, they share a kiss.

Immediately, fans took to Twitter to share their celebratory reactions for the moment they’ve long been waiting for. “I’ve been screaming for a solid 10 minutes,” one person wrote. “I'm so excited this finally happened!!!” another added. “Oh my god! BEST ENDING EVERRRR!!!!!!!” a different fan said.

Still, other fans couldn’t help but feel cautious about the pair and what it could mean for the rest of season 2. Given how unsure Zoey has been about Max in the past, some are worried the couple may not last. “I’M CRYINGGGGGGGGGGGG but also quietly terrified,” a follower commented. “Me and my friend cheered at this part 😍 omg I hope she doesn’t hurt Max later 😭,” someone else wrote. “This happening in the first episode, why do I feel we're going to suffer later?” another said.

A trailer for next week’s episode appears to show Zoey calling her new romance with Max “a nice distraction.” So, is that all it will be? Will their fling end and crush fans? We’ll just have to keep watching to find out.
