Zoe Kravitz’s Sweatpants and New Balances Are Everyone’s Dog Walking Uniform
In 2020’s new world order, sweatpants and sneakers have become as covetable as a high end handbag or pair of glam platforms. So Zoe Kravitz demonstrated while out in New York this weekend.
The actress swapped her usual red carpet cocktail minidresses, outrageous jewelry and statement heels for an oversized Bob Marley and the Wailers yellow t-shirt and a pair of baggy black sweatpants while out for a walk with her dog Scout. She accessorized the relaxed outfit with black sunglasses, yellow socks to match her tee and and a pair of hunter green New Balance sneakers. The ensemble couldn’t be more representative of the look that everyone is wearing to walk their dog — and do pretty much everything else in this stay-at-home era. If 2020 were an outfit, Kravitz’s casual ensemble would be it.

Kravitz’s longtime stylist Andrew Mukamal posted the photo of his client on Instagram Sunday, and it’s a far cry from the ultra-glam looks that the actress is known to wear on the red carpet. In February, Kravitz attended the BAFTAs wearing a gold chainmail gown and square-toe black patent-leather heeled sandals, both by Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello. The actress has been an ambassador of the French brand for a handful of years now and also attended its Paris Fashion Week show in late February with dad Lenny Kravitz. For the occasion, she donned another chainmail garment, this time a silver cropped top paired with jeans and heels.

The actress may be known for her glam looks on the red carpet, but this is not the first time that she has worn New Balances — and a quick search confirms that she’s a longtime fan of the sneaker brand when it comes to her off-duty looks.
In January, Mukamal posted a behind-the-scenes image of Kravitz’s Elle cover shoot, showing the actress wearing a pair of New Balances — yes, in gray — styled with scrunched white tube socks. And in early February, Kravitz was spotted walking in NYC with husband Karl Glusman (and yes, Scout) wearing another pair of gray New Balances. She was also wearing a full gray sweatsuit, pre-pandemic, proving that she can be a trendsetter no matter the look.
