Actress and singer Zoë Kravitz knows that people are curious about her skincare routine. She cleverly addressed the interest in a post about the 2020 election, "So. A lot of you have been asking me about my skincare routine: I start by voting as early as possible for #JoeBiden and #KamalaHarris and all other Democratic candidates," she captioned a photo of herself, glowy as ever:

Jokes aside, if you're genuinely curious about her skincare routine, she has thankfully spoken at length about it as she's catapulted to stardom through the years in hits like Big Little Lies, X-Men First Class, and now the upcoming 2022 remake of The Batman (she's the new Catwoman, casual). As the daughter of two famous, perennially cool parents–Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet–she's learned all the secrets. In fact, she told InStyle in 2019 that she adopted her whole beauty philosophy from her mother.

"It was really important to her, for me to understand that beauty starts from the inside, and not only in terms of health but also in terms of keeping that light inside of us alive and trying to be a good person, a loving person," Zoë said. "I've met some really beautiful people who, once I see that they're not nice people, that beauty doesn't really do it for me anymore. So I really believe that it starts with who you are."

It doesn't hurt to have a good arsenal of skincare products, either. Ahead, we've rounded up all her favorite products and tips for clear skin.

She's been getting regular facials since she was a teen.

"In New York, I go to Christine Chin, And in LA, I go to Terri Lawton who is wonderful. I think facials are really important to clean out your skin, especially if you travel a lot," she told ELLE in 2019. She spoke about the merits of facials as far back as 2014: "My morning and nighttime routines are pretty much the same. My facialist, Dayle Breault, whom I’ve been going to since I was 15—my mom and dad go to her, too, which is how I found out about her—makes her own line," she told The New York Times. "She has an amazing face wash that I use, or when I’m traveling, she has these really great cleansing pads, which are like a toner and cleanser in one."

She mixes in some DIY skincare.

Her skincare lineup includes one kitchen item: Coconut oil. "Coconut oil is wonderful, I use it on my body. Every time I get out of the shower, I put coconut oil on. It's great," she told InStyle in 2019. It's been a longtime staple of hers, as she told NYT, "I’ll use any brand as long as it’s 100 percent, and it’s something that I’ll pick up at the health-food store."She also revealed she uses tea tree oil because it's "great for blemishes."

She pays close attention to her wellness habits.

Your skin won't look great "if you're not eating well or drinking enough water, or getting enough sleep," Zoë told ELLE. "It has to start with taking care of your body first. Trying to drink enough water is such a huge thing." She also emphasized that she always tries to go to the gym, walk everywhere, and move her body in any way (she's also said she enjoys running and at-home workout videos from Ballet Beautiful). "I try eating well," she added, "Making sure you're eating greens or steamed veggies, or stuff that doesn't have a lot of oil or chemicals...it's about clean food that hasn't been processed." According to a 2019 Byrdie interview, she and her mom also do Dr.Schulze's 30-day detox once a year.

She uses this spot treatment for zits.

Yes, pimples happen–even on Zoë's typically clear skin. That's when she uses Arcona's Tabula Rasa Spot Repair Pads. "If I'm eating too much sugar or not sleeping enough, I see it in my skin. This [spot repair] is great for pimples because it's a bit astringent," she told InStyle in 2016.

She is a big fan of this luxury skincare line.

Over the years, the actress has always professed love for eye cream and serums from one particular brand: Retrouvé. Her favorite product, however is the Retrouvé Intensive Facial Moisturizer. "It's like this really thick, rich serum, and that's what I use as my moisturizer,"she told Popsugar in 2019. She waxed poetic about the moisturizer toVogue UK in 2019 as well, saying it is "incredibly hydrating, and I love the smell and texture of this—it feels like putting honey on your face."

Sun protection is a must.

Her top pick for sunscreen comes from organic skincare brand ISUN. The Antioxidant Sun Butter that is SPF 27 "smells so good I want to eat it!" she told Allure in 2017. "It's so important to wear sunscreen—protect that skin."

She likes this popular facial mist.

"I love Caudalie Beauty Elixir as it’s great after a flight–it wakes you up and I love the minty smell," she told Vogue UK.

She is partial to botanical skincare.

"I like this company called Simply Divine Botanicals. Their products are organic. They make really great body butters, and they have a face wash I like, too," she told NYT. "I’ve been using their How Now Brown Cacao Butter. It smells like chocolate—yummy." She later told Allure she's also a fan of the brand's Skincredible! Sandalwood Revitalizing Elixir, which is a "great light moisturizer for all skin types, and for both day and night. I love the smell."
