Zoe Kravitz

Zoë Kravitz’s everyday looks have an undeniably cool quality to them. In ten years from now, I’m sure I’ll still be thinking about her relaxed but sexy blue slip dress, that floor-length silk skirt she paired with a cut-off tank top, and how she manages to always make layering look effortless. She’s the definition of casual chic, and this week, she gave me another outfit to obsess over.

When the actress stepped out in New York earlier this week, she opted for a simple crewneck T-shirt, wide-leg pants, an oversized topcoat, and an equally large tote bag; it was quiet luxury at its finest. The collared jacket draped perfectly, her blue tee added a pop of color, and her woven bag brought an interesting texture to the ‘fit. It had all of the elements of a winning look, including those taupe, slip-on clogs that make any outfit instantly cooler.

Kravitz wore Birkenstock’s Boston Clogs, the surprising shoe that’s taken over the internet and Hollywood. Kaia Gerber, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kendall Jenner have all worn the style, and for good reason. The Boston clog features a slip-on design, durable suede exterior, a buckle detail, and  footbed that forms to your foot. It’s a design that’s as sensible as it is stylish, which is why it only makes sense that it has made its way into the Kravitz’s rotation, whose style matches the luxe but laid-back ethos of the clog. Kravitz’s everyday outfits always manage to find that perfect balance between cool and casual, and these shoes are the embodiment of that.

With her recent look, the slip-ons brought that relaxed feel to her winter pieces without making any of the individual elements feel sloppy; they’re the shoes you reach for when comfy sneakers pose a threat of ruining an otherwise good look. And while Kravitz convinced me they work in winter — and look shockingly chic with a billowing coat — the style is just as effective in the spring with a pair of jeans or in the summer with cut-offs.
