Zoë Kravitz Chopped Off All of Her Hair Into a Pixie Cut
Zoë Kravitz is showing up at her Thanksgiving table with a return to her old swag. The actress shared a photo of a new pixie cut on Instagram, simply captioned "hair [scissor emoji]". It's a classic Kravitz look that she went back to just in time for the holiday season.
Kravitz has often worn short hair in the past, typically in between braids, locs, or a platinum blonde dye job. Even hair deserves to chill out over the holidays, right?
The new/old look is a close-cropped cut that's just shy of a full-on buzz cut. The hair is layered and choppy (part of Kravitz's signature carefree-cool-chick vibe,) with the teeniest hint of bangs just touching her forehead.
Tagged in the Instagram post is hairstylist Nikki Nelms, who's been responsible for some of Kravitz's most head-turning looks, including the bleach blonde braids she wore for an Allure cover back in 2017. Nelms also works with Yara Shahidi and Janelle Monáe.
Zoë stans will recall that she's worn pixie cuts multiple times in the past. In April 2017, she chopped and bleached her hair into a similar short look. Just a few months later — after a spell with blonde braids — she dyed the pixie back to brown and wore it in a slightly longer, grown-in iteration.
The cut is a return to form for Kravitz, perhaps her way of slipping into something cozy for the winter months. But if we know anything about Kravitz, it's possible that the look won't last long, but no matter — it'll be back again soon.
