Zenith Just Dropped a Chronomaster Sport Watch in Lightweight Titanium
Titanium’s light weight has made it an increasingly popular material for watchmakers over the past 10 years. Now, Zenith has applied it to its beloved Chronomaster Sport model.
The standout feature of the latest addition to the Chronomaster lineup is the material. While a number of brands have only recently begun creating titanium models, Zenith was actually one of the earliest brands to use it in its watches in the 1980s, including for models like its iconic El Primero. The new Chronomaster Sport collection highlights its sleek gray tones with a predominantly satin-brushed finish from the case to the crown and pump-style pushers. In addition, the titanium bezel gets a gorgeous sunburst satin-brushed decoration that sets it apart from other iterations within the Chronomaster Sport line.

The titanium El Primeros from the ’80s aren’t the only vintage models to influence the design of the new Chronomaster Sport Titanium. The watch draws from three other iconic models from the brand, as is evident through its bezel design; tricolor registers in anthracite, grey, and silver; and three-link bracelet with satin-brushed side links.
“This Chronomaster Sport is a great example of bringing Zenith’s past into the present and hopefully the future,” shares Laurence Bodenmann, Heritage Director for Zenith. “It’s based on iconic vintage models like the A277, the pre-El Primero; the A386, which has served as the template for the Chronomaster line; and the Deluca. Components of each of these three models contribute to the creation of something that’s not an exact duplication but perhaps a future icon.”
Alongside the new titanium model, Zenith has also launched a new line of straps for the Chronomaster Sport collection crafted from durable and supple FKM rubber (which is considered the gold standard of rubber for its ability to withstand extreme heat and its resistance to chemicals) and offered in four colors: black, blue, green, and white.
The all-new Chronomaster Sport Titanium is priced at $11,800 on the titanium bracelet and $11,300 on the rubber strap. Both versions are available today from Zenith’s online and brick and mortar boutiques and authorized retailers worldwide.
