Zendaya's Best Tenniscore-Inspired Looks From Her 'Challengers' Press Tour

Zendaya's newest role sees her playing a tennis prodigy named Tashi in Luca Guadagnino's upcoming film Challengers. Naturally, as the press tour for the film has gotten underway, Zendaya and her stylist Law Roach have leaned into tenniscore. It's unsurprising given that tennis fashion (think: tennis skirts to sparkly tennis bracelets) has gone mainstream in recent years, and Zendaya has always had a penchant for theme dressing for her projects (i.e. her futuristic fashion to support Dune: Part Two).

Zendaya told Elle last year that her partnership with Roach is key to her entire aesthetic. "He's involved in every fashion contract, everything I do," she said. "If I have an opportunity where he can come with me, he’s always going to be there. He's always been my creative director in a sense, and he continues to fill that role, because it’s more than just clothes on a red carpet."

For a photocall outside the Sydney Opera House, Zendaya wore custom Lacoste, designed by Pelagia Kolotouros and inspired by their Fall/Winter 2024 collection, "The Victory of 1927." Lacoste has long been a brand associated with tennis—it was founded by René Lacoste, a French tennis star, in 1933—so it makes perfect sense for Zendaya to wear on the Challengers press tour.

For the first red carpet event for Challengers, Zendaya opted for a custom Loewe dress. The glittering green dress was meant to evoke a tennis court, and a silhouette of a player (plus a racket and tennis ball) was on the dress. She wore matching Loewe pumps, and accessorized with Bulgari jewelry.

While not the exact Loewe pumps that Zendaya wore, these are similar! Plus, Loewe's toy pumps are very in for tennis spectators—just see, for example, Emma Watson and Ariana Grande at Wimbledon last summer.

For press in Australia, Zendaya wore an Elisabetta Franchi shirt from their Fall 2024 collection, which took inspiration "from the timeless image of English college uniforms." She also wore Christian Louboutin pumps.

While the Indian Wells women's championship was not an official stop on the Challengers press tour, we're counting it. To watch the match, Zendaya wore an ivory Louis Vuitton zip-up with a matching pleated skort, and accessorized with the brand's Ellipse BB Bag. She also wore On Running sneakers, which were a collaboration with none other than tennis great Roger Federer.

In the first promotional stills for Challengers released by MGM (taken by Anthony Prince Leslie), Zendaya wore a slouchy yellow Louis Vuitton sweater and cream shorts (both from their 2024 Resort Collection), and Christian Louboutin white satin pumps. She accessorized with Bulgari jewelry.
