Zendaya Stole the Show at the Dune Premiere in Mugler’s See-Through Robot Suit From 1995

Zendaya and Law Roach have out-Duned themselves.

Wow, that was a spectacularly stupid pun, but honestly, my brain has sort of melted out of my ears since Zendaya arrived at the world premiere of Dune: Part Two in London on February 15. The 27-year-old actor stepped out on the sandy carpet in a robotic suit of armor featuring a mix of metallic and see-through panels.

Not only is this a completely breathtaking look from Zendaya and the iconic Image Architect, but it's also an exquisite piece of fashion history taken straight from the Mugler archives. Specifically, we're looking at Thierry Mugler's robot suit from 1995. “And yes it's the ORIGINAL suit,” Roach captioned an Instagram post of Muhammad Ali with the quote “I am the greatest.”

Who could argue?

Back in March 2023, Roach defended Zendaya from rumors that she caused his surprise retirement from celebrity styling due to “politics” and “lies.” In fact, he told the press that he had no plans to cut ties with the Euphoria star at all.

“I don’t have to style Zendaya to be a part of her team and her creativity team, right?” Roach said in an interview with The Cut in March. “So maybe if I choose, you know, not to be her stylist, I can still be her creative director and I can still, you know, manage a stylist or however I choose to do it. I haven’t made a decision. She’s giving me the grace to be able to make that decision because we really have a kinship. Like, you know, we’ve grown up together. And that’s all I ever asked, was for people who I worked so hard for to just give me grace when I need it.”

The pair fully quashed fan concerns when Roach brought his “main girl” to an event in April, telling fans on Instagram Stories that he was serving as her creative director. Now they're serving up more and more winning looks as the Dune press tour continues. If this is what they're able to deliver on the Dune red carpets, we can only imagine what she's going to wear as cohost of this year's Met Gala.
